Getting started

What Gravity Run is, whether it is free, and how to start playing in your browser.

What is Gravity Run?

Gravity Run is a one-button running game. Your runner rolls forward through a tunnel on its own, and every tap flips gravity so it falls to the ceiling or back to the floor. Dodge spike strips, pits, saw blades, and bolts, reach the finish gate, and collect up to three stars in each of 18 levels.

Is Gravity Run free to play?

Yes. gravityrun.app is completely free and runs in your browser. There is nothing to buy, download, or install, no account to create, and no levels locked behind a payment — every level unlocks by clearing the one before it.

Who is Gravity Run for?

Anyone who likes quick, skill-based games. Early levels are gentle enough for younger players, and the final levels are fast enough to challenge experienced players. There is no violence, chat, or user-generated content.

Gameplay and levels

Controls, hazards, stars, the 18 levels, and what happens when you crash.

How do you play Gravity Run?

Tap the tunnel, click, or press Space to flip gravity. The runner moves forward automatically; your job is to be on the right surface — floor, ceiling, or mid-flip — as each hazard arrives. Touching a hazard restarts the level. Reach the checkered gate to clear it.

How many levels are there?

There are 18 levels. They unlock in order, starting with simple spike strips and adding pits, saw blades, bolts, and finally needles (spikes on both surfaces at once) while the speed climbs from level 1 to level 18. You can replay any level you have unlocked.

How do stars work?

Every level has three stars along the route. Fly or roll through a star to collect it, then finish the run for it to count. Your best star count for each level is saved, and the level select shows your total out of 54.

What happens when I crash?

The runner bursts apart and the level restarts from the beginning about half a second later. There are no lives and no game-over screen, so you can retry as many times as you like. Your attempt count is tracked in the stats panel.

Can I flip in mid-air?

No — you flip from a surface. There is a tiny grace window just after rolling off an edge, and a press made a split second before landing is remembered and fires as soon as you touch down.

Is every level actually beatable?

Yes. Before a level is used, a solver plays it with the exact same physics as the game but a larger hitbox than yours. Only layouts the solver can clear — including a route through all three stars — are accepted.

What are the controls?

Flip gravity with a tap, a left-click, Space, W, S, or the up/down arrows. P or Esc pauses, R restarts the level, M toggles sound, and L opens the level select. The game also pauses automatically when you switch tabs.

Versions and other sites

How this game relates to ABCya, whether there is a Gravity Run 2, and what “unblocked” means here.

Is this the ABCya Gravity Run?

No. gravityrun.app is an independent game in the same genre — a gravity-switching runner with 18 levels and three stars per level — built from scratch for modern browsers. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by ABCya or IXL Learning. It needs no account and runs without plugins.

Is there a Gravity Run 2?

There is no official sequel on this site. gravityrun.app is a fresh take on the gravity-run formula with new levels, saws, bolts, and needles. If you have finished another gravity runner and want new tunnels, these 18 levels are all original.

Is Gravity Run unblocked?

gravityrun.app is an ordinary website: no Flash, no plugins, no downloads, and no embedded frames from other game portals. It loads wherever a normal web page loads. Whether a school or workplace network allows it is up to that network’s administrator — please follow your school or workplace rules.

How is this different from Gravity Guy or VVVVVV?

All three use gravity flipping. Gravity Guy is a chase runner; VVVVVV is a puzzle-platformer you steer left and right. Gravity Run keeps it to one input: the runner moves on its own and you only decide when to flip, with short handcrafted-feeling levels and stars to collect.

Devices and saving

Mobile play, supported browsers, local progress, and resetting your stats.

Can I play Gravity Run on my phone?

Yes. Tap anywhere on the tunnel to flip gravity. The game area and controls fit on a portrait phone screen without scrolling, taps do not zoom the page, and restarting a level is instant.

Does the game save my progress?

Yes, locally. Unlocked levels, best star count and best time per level, attempts, and your sound setting are saved in your browser’s local storage. Nothing is sent to a server and there is no account, so a different device, browser profile, or cleared site data starts fresh.

Which browsers are supported?

Any current browser with JavaScript: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari on desktop and mobile. If the game does not respond, update the browser, allow scripts for this site, and reload.

How do I reset my progress?

Open Stats below the game (or from the level select), choose Reset progress, and tap again to confirm. That clears unlocked levels, stars, best times, and attempt counts on this browser. It cannot be undone.

Can I play offline?

The page needs a connection to load the first time. Once loaded, the game itself runs entirely in your browser, so a dropped connection mid-run will not interrupt play.
